Company Profile
Dr. Brandt GmbH is an owner-managed measuring company originating from a physical laboratory founded by the Brandt brothers - Dr. W. Brandt and H. Brandt - in Bochum-Dahlhausen in 1949.
Having initially developed special physical systems and general electrical equipment Dr. Brandt very early focused his activities on applications in the field of general measurement and testing. Time recording systems for sports swimming centers were among the products supplied by the young company as were magneto-inductive systems used for non-destructive testing of steel ropes.
Nevertheless, most decisive for Dr. Brandt GmbH’s orientation nowadays was knowledge about the great potential associated with the - at that time - young technical field of taking measurements with the aid of strain gauges.
In the early 70ties Dr. Brandt developed initial systems that were used in steel strip and paper web tension measuring applications and are being used for this purpose nowadays. A little later Dr. Brandt introduced first rolling force measuring systems.
From the beginning, Dr. Brandt always has taken existing technical on-site conditions into account and endeavored to satisfy client-specific requirements so that standardized system solutions are rarely recommended.
Dr. Brandt GmbH is a developer and manufacturer of client-oriented system solutions and has the measuring expertise necessary to render competent consultation services to all its clients.
